Sennheiser makes some of the best headphones in the world. Its top-end HD 800 headphones are one of just several of sets of getting our Editor’s Option prize. The new Sennheiser HD 700 pair of headphone link the gap between this £1000 pair and the £300 HD 650. From any other producer, a £600 set like these would be a top headphone, and they have a lot to confirm.
The Sennheiser HD 700 pair of headphone lend style chops from their big sibling, the HD 800. They have the same space-age look, with glasses complete of silver segments, divided with a mix of shapes and distinct, described collections. It’s a style that makes the HD 650 look rather simple – but that’s not to say many won’t choose the more clean looks of the all-grill 650s.
Why all the complex joints and sections? It’s all in an attempt to develop a framework that dampens oscillations, removing distortions and maintaining the audio as genuine as possible.
These are – like the other high-end HD-series designs – open-back headphones. The silvery segments that type part of each earcup’s back are made out of proper metal fine mesh, rounded absolutely for a single area. This excellent mesh includes each starting in the largely plastic framework. This develop quite just like HD 800, although the back grill has a compact sized footprint here.
The Sennheiser HD 700 headphone are circumaural headphones that use pads lead with incredibly excellent velour. Like their larger bros – in both cost and size – they are made purposely large to help the load submission.
Although the cushioning is a little more complex than some, these headphones are extremely relaxed. As qualified at-home headphones, they don’t need to secure your face too limited. With a mid-firm hold and light-weight, they’ll sit gladly on your bounce for a long time. The headband, in particular, is incredibly well-padded, circulating stress across the whole top of your face rather than just a top-most factor.
Most here would probably never consider these headphones with the objective anyway, but just in the case – these are not outside headphones. They provide without any sound cancellation and flow noise significantly. Neither is a less part of an open-back earphone, but it is nevertheless something to consider.
Much more important, though, the wire is of top great quality and is detachable. Compared with the Sennheiser HD 650 with its exclusive remedy, each cup wire here uses a mono 2.5mm port with an indent in the rubberized protecting to aid placement. The wire has a braided style, providing it a high-quality feel.
Once you get into the area of serious headphones, the prospect of value becomes hard to evaluate. The best we can do is to assess the Sennheiser HD 700 to their competitors. They significantly outshine the Shure SRH1440 and are a particular update over the Sennheiser HD 650. These are not the miracle earphone that can exceed all its more-expensive competitors, though – the Beyerdynamic T1 and Sennheiser HD 800 are better in several aspects. However, they do entitle to their place on racks, even at the great cost.
